Oh, SmAlbany!

Daily posts and occasional longer essays about politics, culture, and life in the Capital Region...updated M-F, midmorning

"I write this not as a booster of Albany, which I am, nor an apologist for the city, which I sometimes am, but rather as a person whose imagination has become fused with a single place, and in that place finds all the elements that a man ever needs..." -W. Kennedy, from O Albany!

Classic SmAlbany...

A reader sends in a scanned copy of the TU cover from "Ron Guidry Night." Note the people standing on the warning track. That's not the end of the game - that's during the game! Simply amazing. Click on the picture to see it at full size.

It is funny to see this picture. I am a die-hard Red Sox fan, and upon reading the history of the Sox, I found an interesting fact. During almost all games, people would stand along the baselines and at the warning track during the game. This happened almost during all games.
