Good par-3 golf
Good par-3 golf: SJC and I played Hiawatha trails par-3 yesterday afternoon. To our delight, the course is in fine shape, and Chip even threw in some free gatorades since we give him so much business. Due to some slow groups of older women, we started on the back nine. SJC shot an 85, I had a 71 (par is 57). Not bad.
However, the best golf find for anyone looking to play a short course is the pitch and putt up at Eagle Crest on 146a in Clifton Park (it's just past the main course). If you use the Entertainment Book coupon, it's $8 for two to play. It's very short, the course is well kept, and it's challenging enough for decent golfers to have a good time with it. Plus, there's never a crowd and the ice cream is excellent. They also have a pretty good miniature golf course next door, for similar fees.
Sure beats the heck out of the rip-off pricing at Mill Road.
UPDATE: Of course, if you're intersted in full-length golf, obviously nothing beats the $13 resident student rate at Colonie.
