The WPFL

New SmAlbany sports team: Over at Democracy in Albany, they are reporting on the Women's Professional Tackle Football League, which, lo and behold, has a team in Albany - the Albany Ambush! Who knew. Next game: this Saturday against the Empire State Roar at Union College.

I'm sure the WPFL is intense. Having myself played college rugby (men's, that is), I saw my share of women who could hold their own in a hard-hitting contact sport. I wonder how many fans they get. Anyone been to an Ambush game?
