Oh, SmAlbany!

Daily posts and occasional longer essays about politics, culture, and life in the Capital Region...updated M-F, midmorning

"I write this not as a booster of Albany, which I am, nor an apologist for the city, which I sometimes am, but rather as a person whose imagination has become fused with a single place, and in that place finds all the elements that a man ever needs..." -W. Kennedy, from O Albany!

Golf / Sushi

Golf / Sushi:Yesterday, SJC and I hit the links, again at Hiawatha Trails. I shot a 70, SJC an 84 (par is 57). I had my closest brush yet with a hole-in-one, as I put a 9-iron less than 15 inches from the cup on the 110-yard #12.

Afterward, we went up to Saratoga and had dinner with som friends at the fabulous Sushi/Thai Garden on Phila street downtown. They are doing quite an amazing business there these days - we didn't eat until almot 9:00, but the place was still packed. SJC had an amazing mango curry and I had sushi and sashimi. You can read our full review in the restuarant guide.
