Stauffer wins debut:

Stauffer wins debut: Tim Stuaffer, a capital region native and former pitcher at Spa Catholic, won his major league debut yesterday, pitching 6 inninngs for the Padres. Although he struggled early and faced a few jams, his future looks promising. He was called up because the Padres #5 starter, Tim Redding, was 0-5 with an abysmal 8.76 ERA.

Tim should get another start early next week, and could likely remain with the big club.
